This Valentine’s gift set, including a gift bag, wrapping paper, and a bag tag, inspires romantic nostalgia and whimsy through gentle ink illustrations.

I developed the packaging images using a pen-based contour style that draws inspiration from fashion illustrations of the mid-twentieth-century, depicting a simple scene of love and cheer. I experimented with the wide range of textures achievable through the varying weights and opacities of the ink pen, using these qualities to create a stark contrast between soft and sharp lines and shapes.

The wrapping paper displays a repeat pattern of roses and ribbons with a soft, inky texture. The bag tag features delicate hand-lettering, framed by a ribbon border. Across the set, I refined composition and texture to create a unified romantic mood that flows consistently across all three items.
